Caprice des Dieux was produced at first a family dairy in the village of Illoud in the Haute-Marne region of France over 60 years ago. Its unique recipe and oval shape, its distinctive blue box and original name marked it out from other cheeses of the time.
Made from local milk collected less than 60 km from the dairy, Caprice des Dieux is a mild, creamy cheese, with a white bloomy rind.. The white exterior reveals a smooth, creamy heart and a delicate crème-fraiche flavour that melts easily on the tongue.
Caprice des Dieux is best served at room temperature.Pair with light red or white wines.
